Our Story
Set in careful type, built on ordinary craft
Dorevix started with a straightforward observation: the reporters doing the most consistent work rarely had anyone checking their process.
Dorevix began as a side project between two former newsroom editors who kept fielding the same question from freelance friends: "can you look at this before I send it?" What started as favours became a structured practice once it was clear how often the same problems recurred — an inconsistent publishing rhythm, a headline pulling in a different direction than the piece, an agreement signed without reading the fine print twice.
We work with journalists across Kenya who publish independently or in small teams, wherever the standard newsroom scaffolding — copy desks, legal review, a second pair of eyes — simply isn't there. Our sessions are built to fill exactly that gap, nothing more and nothing less.
We are based on the coast in Mombasa but most of our work happens over calls, since the reporters we support are rarely in one place for long.
What We Hold To
Three things we don't compromise on
01
Your judgement stays yours
We offer alternatives and structure. We never tell a reporter what to publish or how to frame a story — that decision belongs to you alone.
02
What's said stays private
Drafts, sources, and funding conversations discussed in a session are never referenced elsewhere without your explicit agreement.
03
Something written, every time
A conversation fades. A written checklist, policy, or set of alternatives doesn't — every session ends with something you can return to.
